Does Google invade our privacy?

Sometimes it feels like Google is spying on me when i'm surfing online. It's not just how they tailor the ads to mimic other sites I've visited, but also how they keep track of activity from one Google owned site to the next. They call it personalization but to me it feels like invasion of privacy.

Google TOS gives them the right to track your movement online. If you use any of the Google products, you have agreed to being tracked across multiple websites, including Youtube. So they will always know where/what you are searching for or visiting online.

You know I never thought of it like this. But you are so right. They really are spying on us, and I am not sure that I like it one bit.

I don't think Google has any legal right to spy on us, even if their TOS say they can. It feels so invasive. There must be laws that could protect a citizen from this type of intrusion.

Yes when you look at it how you have described it then I would say that it is invading privacy.

A nice way of putting it is personalization. Really they should just have a spy located on screen since that is what they are doing anyway.

You do not like to think of this but at the same time it happens all the time. It is really a shame that they know so much about all of us.

I guess I feel that if you are online then you sort of have to expect that some privacy will be taken away from you.
