How to easily find .gov and .edu domains for backlinking using Google search

You can use the advanced search function of Google search to refine your search or limit it to specific top level domains such as .gov or .edu. This can be useful when trying to find places to get high value backlinks.

https://www.google.com/advanced_search

Simply specify .gov or .edu in the 'site or domain' section when making your search.

You can also use the following format for your refined search.

[ keyword site:.gov ]
(replace the 'keyword' with your own search term)

For example:
[ Olympics site:.gov ]

This is a really smart idea. And, I was looking for this technique the other day on another site. But no one was telling how to do this.

That's very clever. Though I didn't realize you could actually comment on government blogs.

Wouldn't these be heavily moderated?

Actually it is very easy to search dot gov and dot edu domain on your niche, however, backlinking to these site is very hard. You can share your link while you leave comments (if allowed), however, your comment may not be approved, and in most cased these links will be nofollow. So just leaving your url on dot gov or dot edu sites does not guarantee you a backlink. You need to have your link on the content body, however, it is quite impossible to be listed on the content body, not unless the admin is your father.
