    Imposters on Facebook

    I wonder why so many people want multiple accounts on Facebook if not for personal reasons. Are they leading double lives that family and friends don't know about?

    I personally own and use 10 FB accounts. I have over 3 thousand accounts for business reasons. Each personal account I have is a completely different person, sex, age and more. Why you ask? Promotional reasons and whatnot. Selling Facebook reviews and likes, making people believe they are real people to coerce their decision making for marketing purposes and more. It's a lucrative world out their.

    Plus people post those stupid 'share this' photos and every time someone shares it or clicks on it they make 5 cents. They can make 15k in a week once from peoples lake of knowledge on what Facebook is really used for.

    Some people have two personal profiles on Facebook to hide their online activities from a spouse or significant other. If you've seen the show Catfish, you know how often this happens. Most times, they will simply take another person's photographs and use them. There is really no way to tell if these profiles are real or fake when that happens as there is someone operating them.

    And I find this to be rather disturbing. Why or how could you do this to someone that you claimed to love?

    I just don't know why people do this kind of thing. But, I guess they feel invulnerable being online as if they can get away with anything. Facebook is becoming responsible for many marriage and relationship break ups due to jealousy and infidelity. I guess these people who have multiple Facebook accounts to lead a double life are not doing such a good job of hiding it from their spouse.

    Maybe they only have that account for work purposes, such as friending the boss or employer and then there is another account for personal use.

    This could be done for business reasons to keep a person's private life separate from their business life. In that situation, it would make more sense.

    If you want anonymity for your Facebook page, such as to conduct a business, you can simply use a pseudonym and no one will know about your true identity. There is no need to have an alternate account for this reason.

    To each his own but it does not make sense to me. I think that they are only doing it because they are cheating or doing something they should not be.


    And, these are the same people that were likely cheating in real life, going to clubs behind their spouse's back. The internet and Facebook just provides another outlet for finding a new partner. And, that's not saying it's right to do, only that many do it.

    Recently someone stole some pictures and information from my friend's profile and then create a fake profile by using my friend's name. We reported this account and Facebook closed it. We have been wondering why the person created this fake profile. I think some questions will always remain unanswered. My friend is more cautious about what he share and with whom nowadays.

    I have a Facebook friend who recently complained of a poser– this is a Facebook account using the same name and photo of someone. Her
    poser is making nasty posts as if to malign her. My friend posted on the
    timeline of the poser to notify people that the said account is an impostor and
    should not be patronized. The poser’s
    account has only 1 friend. Now this question – what is the motive of that
    poser? Beats me.
