Google prefers domains without dashes and can tell where a word starts and stops, even without the dashes. The dashes are only there for your visitor's benefit.

The dash in a domain is not really a convenience factor. It might actually take more effort for the visitor to find the dash key on the keyboard rather than typing in three words without.

Dashes don't help or hurt your search engine ranking and have nothing to do with it. Though it's better to leave all dashs or underscores out of your domains when creating them.

Dash will hurt your domain in branding prospects and seo for long term but its still better than numbers, always look for brandable domain even if its non keyword related name and one which is easy to remember .
