Should you buy a year's worth of hosting at a time?

Last year, I paid for a full year of hosting on one of my secondary websites. I didn't end up using that site much so the money went to waste. Now I'm just paying month to month, by subscription. Though if something goes wrong with billing and payment doesn't go through, my forum would be shut down until the billing error was resolved. That's happened before, actually. So I'm not sure if buying hosting month to month is any better of an idea. Do you buy a full year of hosting or just pay month to month?

I pay $78 for one year hosting and I can host up to 10 websites at a time. Even though I am not running 10 websites, I find this package super cheap considering the fact that I can host my 10 websites with just one package. My disk space and bandwith is limited, however, they are big enough to hold the data and good enough to receive moderate traffic.

I pay 70$ per two years for the Hawkhost's shared hosting plan. And so far everything is good. Service is good and technical support is top notch. I think my money is placed into the right place. I'd surely say it is worth that investment. Not all hosts are like that though. Some of the hosts such as hostgator, arvixe, bluehost are just waste of money. I'd not recommend those hosts for anyone who are serious about the hosting.
