Hi sanfora thanks for your question. I think there has many contention about this matter. Is social media help to increase search rank or not? And if you are talking only Facebook like will help to increase Google rank, I do not get answer how you have used like. If you talking with only fanpage, I think this will not help you. And I agree with razzy social media may big factor to increase search ranking by involving people much. But I should say, use relevant like button and use G+ too. it may help to getting search engine ranking.

The amount of facebook likes won't help you rank, but social media is a factor in rankings. You have to stay active on your social profiles in order to get a benefit from them. You'll get a slight benefit from your social profiles with links to your websites on them, but not as much as if you were active.

Google wants their rankings to be filled with amazing websites with quick response times and that are consistently active throughout the week. A dead website having a #1 placement in their rankings will just piss people off if they buy something or try to contact the support desk and never get a response. Keep the conversation going on your social pages, which isn't difficult, and you'll see an enormous benefit from it because people will begin to share your posts and more people will come in and like, comment, follow, etc.

I don't focus on my social profiles in terms of search engine optimization because I want to treat them more like a support system. People will often post on your facebook page or tag you on twitter to ask questions. A lot of people will send you an email to get a hold of you, but there are the few times when someone tries to get your attention and they use social media.

A great way to help you manage your social media profiles is to get hootsuite. It's one of the top social media management systems out there today and their support system is pretty top notch Can Facebook likes help you rank in Google search? hootsuite will let you access your social profiles from a single dashboard so you don't have to log into multiple websites and post. It's actually a pretty sweet system and I suggest everyone should check it out.

Yes social media can affect ranking but I think it is a lot more complicated than just likes that count

Like Razzy said it is about engagement and people sharing your content.

I treat my websites as my main focus, like Razzy has said, and then everything else is a support (email marketing, social media, youtube videos... )

Many small business owners have the conception that they need to get more Facebook likes in order to be more popular. However they need to realize that Facebook likes are not everything. They may make a seller's Facebook page look more reliable, but at the end of the day it is not going to affect Google rankings that much. Facebook likes do not affect Google search rankings, it is SEO that is the only truly effective way to improve rankings. Social media engagement plays a role in rankings but likes are not essentially about engagement. I fully agree with Razzy.

It depends on what you really want to know. If you're asking if social media can help one get ranks on the search engine, I think the answer is definitely yes, if you can manage your social media networks well by inscribing your site links to most of the activities you do on social media

when you get likes on your facebook posts, your content will generate social signals. Social signal is one of the SEO factors as it helps in building your search engine rank. Getting thousands if likes may not take your website to number one spot on Google, however, it will definitely help your website climb the rank. getting search engine rank is a result of various factors and social signals is one of them.

Based on 1 discussion that I had read, the posts in social media related to your website are called social signals. In another discussion, it was said that Google is now considering the social signals as a secondary priority for the backlink. However, the Facebook likes is just a reaction to the post so I guess it wouldn’t matter to the search engine. I don’t see any importance of the Facebook like to the search engine’s algorithm.
