Where can I hire a VA from and how to choose someone to delegate work to?

Hello all. My sales are really picking up and I'm struggling a bit to keep up with them all and do all the work for them all. So I'm thinking about hiring a VA (Virtual Assistant) to help me with them. Someone that I can delegate certain tasks to. Someone that I can say, okay, I need this or that doing and tell them exactly what it is and how to do it and someone that will be reliable as well and always come through for me.

Can you tell me. Have you hired a VA from SEOClerks? Is there anyone that you can personally recommend that needs the work and is a good/reliable worker?

Or is there some way that you went about finding someone on SEOClerks or somewhere else that you have as your VA?

I guess I could create a WTB and put what it is I need doing. Just certain parts of the work I need doing as I do most of it myself. But I need some other things.

Or perhaps I could look through the list of Freelancers but I would imagine them to be really busy and only really like to take on bigger jobs. I only need small things doing but when you've got like 20 small things to do that turns into one big thing!

So yeah, where to hire a VA from?
Have you hired a VA before?
If so what tips can you give me when doing so?

Thanks and much appreciated for your help and advice!

Cheers!

Mike.

Typically I will hire my VAs from either SeoClerks or Upwork. There are a few other marketplaces out there where you can find some people, but I haven't tried them so I wouldn't be able to give you an accurate recommendation other than I know people have used them.

Have you hired a VA before?
I hire VAs for a number of small task that I need done but have no time for. Typically I will hire a VA for data entry or posting pre written content to my pages or answering any questions that come through my social platforms or support desk. I won't use a VA for tasks like backlink building or web design because I can hire a specialist for those kinds of things.

If so what tips can you give me when doing so?
Never pick a VA right away if you post a WTB or job on any platform. Wait a few days before you choose because not everyone can get on and find your post right after you make it. I've found some good VAs right away but it's been rare. I've noticed that I normally choose the right VA after about 3 or 4 days because I can cherry pick the one I want Where can I hire a VA from and how to choose someone to delegate work to?

Try to get a VA that speaks in your native language. I like hiring my VAs who are from the Philippines because they all learn English when they're young and speak it pretty well. My main web designer actually started off as one of my VAs who was doing data entry Where can I hire a VA from and how to choose someone to delegate work to?

I haven't hired VA's particular, but I did find some of my current team members from various blackhat forums actually. Much like the WTB/WTT sections here on SEOClerks, I just posted the entire work description. What I expected, how much I would pay and all that.. Then the real problems started.. I had to give everyone a fair chance, which I did. And after about 2 weeks of hard work and effort. I managed to hire 3 of them for a longer period of time.

Yes Andre, I can imagine that it would be quite a job going through everyone, but well worth it in the end I hope.

If you feel under pressure, hiring a VA will certainly prove helpful so that you may focus on the more important things that you have to see to yourself. I think that creating a WTB is a good way to start. Try to ask for someone with experience so that you do not get just anyone bidding. You need someone trustworthy and who does not end up making things more time consuming by having you explain every little thing.

I am enjoying all these tips and I will be very interested to hear how it all turns out for you Mike. I have been interested in also doing something similar because my days are too short and my to do lists too long.

I need an assistant but after having an employee I have to admit that I am way too nervous to trust anyone with my work! So yes share what happens please.
