    Is there a Google update happening or is it normal fluctations?

    Cristian posted at the beginning of September that he noticed fluctuations in ranking and he was wondering whether there was a Google Update happening soon. I've read a number of different articles that are also asking the same thing.

    Now today I read on Search Engine Land that the signs are all there for an update but that Google is downplaying it. Apparently John Mueller said on Twitter that there is nothing specific at this time but they are always doing improvements.

    Have you noticed anything with your rankings, or perhaps you have read something about this? Do you personally think there is a major Google Update happening?

    Yep, I have noticed this too, but wasn't sure as I haven't heard anything official from the SEO gods. My rankings are improving drastically and I'm not certain as to WHY they are improving. Perhaps my target isn't very competitive? Maybe people are actually searching for my keywords and I think no one is interested in my niche? Very playful indeed.

    I think Google will down play it until it's over, they will probably release something many months after it has happened. But I do see an improvement in my keywords, and positions basically without doing much of anything. I mean, I don't have the time to do SEO and if I am seeing improvements then something definitely is up.

    Yeah I have seen some increased rankings too Everett which is really awesome, especially since I have not been able to add much new content to my websites lately.

    I have been busy with a few projects so my content writing has slowed down a bit.

    It would be great to see more improved rankings wouldn't it?

    I am so interested to see what everyone else thinks about this.

    As far as we know google havent go for major page rank or algorithm update for last 1 1/2 years. Or more.
    However they are continuesly updating there algorithms slowly. Which will reduce the competition on targeted seo and black hat black link formation. I think that me be the reason for removal of pr algorithms.

    However google is working on daily on the search engine optimization

    Nah, Google Penguin update is still on its way I think. There were just false allegations and people getting hyped for nothing. I also thought it will definitely be an update soon, since most of my clients experienced fluctuations. Sure, Google may have updated its algorithm for certain things but it's doing that all the time.

    Guess will have to wait for official confirmations of future updates, hope it won't be a bad one and none of my clients will be affected too much because as an SEO I will be the one getting burned. Clients usually don't understand how Google updates the ranking algorithm.

    Yes I also saw some fluctuations my side and then it settled down again. We can only wait and see Is there a Google update happening or is it normal fluctations?

    Surely if you stick to all white hat techniques you will be fine if there is an update though? Or maybe a new thing comes in that suddenly throws out old techniques that were considered what hat?

    News had been really conflicting last couple of weeks, I don't know what to believe anymore, guess I'll wait and see, Monday I'll check all the ranks of all my clients at work, the latest news was that indeed Panda 4.0 was implemented and is now live.

    Oh wow ok that is interesting. I can't help thinking that where there is smoke there is fire, so many people have been talking about a possible big Google Update that I cant help thinking something is happening.

    Yeah let us know what's happening Is there a Google update happening or is it normal fluctations? I would love to be kept updated.
