Where Do You Showcase Your Work?

Where Do You Showcase Your Work?

To succeed as a freelancer you  probably need a neutral platform where you can showcase your work.

To be hired faster by prospective employers, you have to show them samples of your work.

It's how they'll find out  whether you can deliver what they are seeking. Let's assume that whatever your blog covers isn't in any way related to the job you are applying for. You probably won't ask that person to visit your blog to evaluate the quality of your writing.

That's why I need your help here? Where do you showcase your work?

You can showcase your articles in forums, blogsites, social media and other relative high traffic sites. The bottom line is that you have to get it out there for people to see and read. The more people that benefits from your content the faster your authority would build up.
I would recommend that you should create a Blogsite first.

Exactly! As long as whatever the individual publishes in any online platforms he or she participates in offers immense value to those reading it, it's definitely going to impact and influence the readers dependence on the writer. I also agree with you that he or she starting his/her own blog will help a lot but the blog niche should be about something that would matter to the readers.

I also agree with you. Creating or having blogsite is very helpful if the person wants one place which introduces his works. It'll also serve as sample or even an online portfolio. But if he/she can't create a blogsite then yes, posting the work online to different social media sites or any blogging platforms/sites is also recommended.

Yup creating your own blog is really helpful especially if your target job is blogging and writing. It would be easy for you to convince your potential client if you have a blog that showcases your writing skill.

Yes I totally agree with this, most of the time I am showcasing my writings to some forums and social media sites because those are the sites that I know I would generate more traffic and money for me. It feels great to earn from it since I feel satisfied and motivated to do more about it. I feel like all my hard work and sacrifices are now worth it which is really great to feel.

I agree with you. Blogsites have always been there for aspiring writers who want to have an avenue where they can share their thoughts and talent in writing. Good thing that social media also exists that makes people get a wider range of audience. Thus, making aspiring writers get chances to be discovered or at least earn from what they're good at.

True, if you don't exert effort in spreading your blog it will be undiscover.

That's very true. Whether what platform you choose to exhibit tmyou work, make sure that you think of the people who will benefit it and where you can get high traffic. You may try all platforms.

The best venue to showcase your work is on your own blog. That is my plan for early next year that I will have my own blog as an expression of my passion. The only thing that is holding me is the time that is needed in the maintenance of the blog because there should be a new blog every week at least to upload 2 articles so that the readers will not be left waiting for updates. That is a tall order for me because I have a full time job in the office for now.

I have recently learned about Dribble. And the site supposed to be good enough for portfolio. Many designers and coders are showing that demo over there. It seems like a good place if you ask me. People should be using such type of the portfolio type websites. And it does pay in many ways in that case. So having the dedicated website also helps out to those who try.

There are so many platforms where you can showcase your work as a freelancer and you will definitely get a great feedback as long as you offer high quality contents. You can showcase some of your work as a guest poster in some forums and blogs, social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. But setting up your own website possibly a blog would be the best way to specialize on getting the best out of your work in public eyes.

I showcase my work at Medium.com. It's a respected site. They allow republished content. They have a Partners Program that connects writer to people looking for writers. I have not tried the Partner Program. It's on my To Do List for 2019.

I never heard Medium.com before but I would love to check it. It seems like a good site based on your statement. It is good that they allow republished content something that other sites don't do.

Showcasing your work is not only a dream but it is a strong point in the right direction. People need to see your work. They should gauge what you can do from your work.

I think majority have suggested avenues that one can showcase their work

For me, personally, if I can't make my employer visit my blog to showcase my works, I just send to them proofs like documents, photos, videos, and others to let them see my capabilities. I actually did it before when I applied for a freelance job on a freelance job seeking website but unfortunately I was rejected (don't worry I'm not sad hehe).

You can showcase your work by creating your own blog or sharing your work with Social Media Platforms like Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, and more. You can create an online portfolio. An online portfolio is also the best way to showcase your work to many viewers. It can highlight samples of your best work and some of your accomplishment.

Yes I agree making a blog or the social media page can be a good starter. And it can earn some really good conversion for the content too. I think showcasing the work through the social media sounds like a good option. I can tell you that it can earn some good money in that case.

I post my written works on spcial media, it's actually fulfilling to publish your work in an avenue where you friends and family can actively interact with you, give you praises and constructive criticisms. Also, I post some of my works on blog sites where a lot of writers can also read and comment on my material. Whether I earn small or big, I will still continue writing and will still post on blog sites like WordPress and social media accounts like Facebook.

There are actually sites where freelancers can upload their work and test the feedback it receives. I know of hubpages where I have Uploaded several articles in the past but you should try to look for more which operate in the similar manner.

My Facebook account is more like a resume than a social media profile. I guess this is one way of advertising. I post pictures of locations and work that I do. And most of the friends I'm accepting are people related in my field of work. I have been offered jobs on Facebook more than with Upwork or LInkedIn.

On Twitter, and on my own website. I find Twitter very useful since it allows you to upload high res images, video, and Twitter extended the text length for a post so now longer posts can be written. A website is great for a detailed portfolio, larger images, heavier photos and videos, but if you want to quickly show off a graphic made by you, or share an interesting photo, without logging to a website, and writing a separate blog post, or if you're a photographer and you just captured a greatly sizzling moment, Twitter is awesome. Same as Instagram, and even DeviantArt. I don't use those last two, but you can. They're okay.

Cheers,
SVibes

I mostly used my social media accounts: Twitter, Instagram, and website. Using social media as your platform will reach thousands of people and is great for your branding because it is much cheaper and faster.

The best way of showcasing your work is having your own blog. But, if you don't have one, you can consider using social media platforms. On my part, I have been using LinkedIn and Twitter to showcase my work.

Ensure you have a platform where you can showcase your work to potential clients and buyers. Actually, every writer should ensure they have a platform to showcase their work and skills. This is the easiest means of marketing your skills.

Having one's own blog and other social media platforms are venues to showcase one's work or writings. As a neophyte, I use Twitter and Facebook to show my work. I still have to explore in other sites.

I think that whenever I have some sites that I want to advertise to get some referrals I just mainly post it to some social media sites since it is the easiest way to gain attraction and some new members as well. Many people can easily saw what I have posted since most people are busy on their social media accounts doing so much thing during their idle time.

I guess having your own blog is the best way to showcase not only your work but also your skills in writing. I have stopped blogging but until now I always cite my past blogging experience because it is still in the internet and it is proof of my writing skills. Some other ways to showcase your work is by joining sites that publish articles like the notorious site that didn’t pay the writers some 3 years ago.

I think that the easiest way is to have a website where you can refer your clients. They are some sites that specialize in hosting portfolios. I think that this is a really good idea because they have various templates that can keep you looking professional and help in how you present yourself. You can put your samples up on this site as part of your portfolio and explain your work experience.
