What gives you comfort, online or offline purchases?

The world has evolved to that stage where we can decide to buy goods from online stores or alternatively, track some offline stores to do our purchases. While buying offline gives us the opportunity to see what we are paying for at that particular moment, online purchases is also convenient for those that are pretty busy to go for shopping. Between both modes of purchasing, which one gives you the better comfort?

I do both online and offline shopping. But honestly, I am more comfortable with my offline purchases. I can see and inspect the product first before making a purchase and I am sure that the product that I bought was the product that I really wanted.
However, scammers in online shopping sites gives me doubt to make a purchase. Though I haven't experience that in making purchase online, I am still not comfortable in making purchase online especially large amount of items.

Scammers are the number 1 reason I limit my experience shopping online. In fact, the largest shopping site in the Philippines is 90% fake Chinese products. I'm glad they made a list of sellers that do sell authentic but more often than not, the item you need is not in their store.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Alymae
Yes. Mostly here in the Philippines are fake Chinese products especially online. You can see in some online sites that they sell imitations. That is why I am more comfortable buying offline.

This is so me, because I like to take physical inspection of whatever I'm buying. I have a fair share of my online buying and it wasn't funny at all so I resorted in offline buying I'm comfortable that way.

I used to enjoy online purchases more. You get the goods from areas of manufacture at times and they are cheap. Sometimes the distance might affect the goods. They may break

That's also a factor. It's not fair that they aren't responsible for the shipping damages though I do get it. What pisses me off is those videos of mailmen just throwing their packages without a care into their truck. After that, I'm more hesitant to buy online.

I agree, there's a lot of scammers online and they are not easily to distinguish. When I buy online with some sellers that Im in doubt, I usually ask for some past legitimate transactions and some identification card so legitimacy purposes. When they couldn't provide some then I wouldn't purchase anything from it.

rlpzbeermoney
A recent trend I'm seeing online is marked down prices for original prices. When I asked why the reason for this was is that they get the products in the grey market. You're basically buying stock that isn't insured, no warranty or returns but authentic. Since you're not paying for the warranty, you get it at a much lower price. Often that not, it's electronics related.

I feel better doing offline purchase over online. With online, so many factors can go wrong. Your card might get declined. The shipping might have gotten mixed with other orders. Your package might have been damaged in the shipping process. Scammers are more likely to attack you online than offline.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

stbrians
Scammers are the ones I fear most. They know how to ruin the enthusiasm of buying online.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Jeane
Scammers are the reason I hardly ever do much of my shopping online. When it is a legit store I'm buying something from I don't mind. If it is from However if it is some seller I don't know on a site like Ebay, I'll be a little more wary.

When online stores convince me that I won't lose any money to scammers, I'll do most of my shopping online.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Enyi
These factors you just outlined are real reasons why online shopping is very frustrating. Even after the incompetency by them it will take ages for them to refund one's money.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
The scamming factor is a real thing and I’ve often seen goods online that look nothing like how they were advertised when you receive them in person. For those reasons purchasing offline can give people greater peace of mind.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

stbrians
I love offline more. Actually, you see the goods and decide. You pay for what you see. Online shopping, however, is different. Sometimes you have not seen the goods but only images.

So true, although what about if you're a buyer for the 2nd time for a specific product and you exactly know how it looks and feels like, do you still prefer to shop offline or online?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
When I purchase offline, I need to take a bath first, get dressed, then start my car, drive, park, go to the store, then make the purchase. When I shop online, I only need to do a few clicks on my laptop or smartphone. So yeah, online shopping is the way to go.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
Haha, that’s a good point! I can shop online in my pajamas if I really want to, and at times of the day when regular stores are closed. I think because of that it really makes for a convenient shopping experience as long as you research the products you’re purchasing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
One hassle when you shop offline is the product's availability. There are times where you want a particular color and its disappointing if the physical store doesn't have it so you'll have to look elsewhere which takes more effort and time.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
And I totally get your point, and agree. Just like you, going out to shopping means the previous ritual of getting dressed. I'm not that kind of person that goes to the mall looking like a mess. Sorry, but I like to look good even when I go to the gas station, so if I'm not in the mood to dress, I certainly pick my stuff online.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree. You can even shop while you're watching TV and sitting down on your cozy sofa. The only thing that I don't liked about it is that, I have to wait for almost a week for it to come. But all in all, I love online shopping.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
A week? Maybe you're buying something from overseas. I understand. Mostly when I shop online, it arrives in 2 days.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ajahcuizon
Well, here in our country, the fastest timeframe for a product to come is within 2 days. Unfortunately, eversince I started buying stuggs online, the fastest time that I received a product is 5 days after placing my order and I never experienced such fast delivery as you did.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
I recently shopped online, and I bought two products. One arrived in 2 days and the other hasn't come yet. How long I have to wait I guess depends on the merchant and the courier. Both are on the same platform.

Another great advantage to online shopping is the possibility of saving money, since through the Internet it is possible to compare and access a large number of retailers, and also easily see bargains. In fact, economic savings is one of the main factors that push persons to buy online.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

cjctm11
We are talking about comfort so you had a great choice. You have a good point about choosing on both of it and it makes sense. What I don't like about online purchasing is that the shipping was it takes long before your product arrives so it was one of the choice if you're not in a hurry while offline purchasing is such an instant.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I have a fair share of buying things online and that make me change my mind buying things online. I buy my things offline now I like to have physical inspection of my purchases now before buying .So I'm more comfortable with buying stuff offline.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I do both and am satisfied with both. I shop offline when I have the time as walking around a mall is also a form of exercise. Online shopping on the other hand is much more useful when you don't have the the time to physically look for something, you can just search for it, order it then wait or it. You just need to make sure to order through proper shopping sites.

When I want to socialize with people. I prefer to shop offline. And when I want to just get things delivered to my house. I make sure to go for the online purchase. Another thing is that having proper purchasing channels is what makes things a bit easier. In that context I'd say that online is lot better as well. I prefer to have offline purchase during the festival time.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

JBeleren
Yes, that is also a factor. There are times that you don't want to socialize, maybe you are tired from work and you just want to relax for the weekend or sometimes you just want to stay at home. Online transactions are helpful in those situations.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I prefer online is because the amount of distance one has to travel from home to those specific distance, it can be too much. And with traffic increased. I think it makes things a bit harder for those who don't want that experience even for small things. So I prefer online purchase in such case.

It depends on what I'm buying and where I m buying from. I definitely enjoy shopping so I love going to the store and choosing something that I want to buy if it's clothes I can try them on. However with life very busy sometimes it gets too busy and sometimes there is no time and the only choice you have is to buy everything online. When I buy online a buy from a reput a blender store because remember you are giving out your personal details.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
Me either, I really like to try on my clothes before I buy them, because there's nothing more disappointing, that caring about a blouse or pant, and find out it doesn't fit when you get home. But, it turns out that more often than not, the same item is way cheaper online that at the store, so I end up buying it online, so I can save more money.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
Both of them are fun but I might be showing my nerdy side here - I think saving money gives me more comfort than shopping does! Personally I just appreciate when I have financial security and if I’m always shopping I’m just eroding the savings I’ve built up.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
Hahaha. That's clever shopping. Usually, I like to get good sales too, unless I find something that I really like, and if my budget allows it, then I can invest a little extra to get a determined item. But, let's say I'm a good sales hunter too.

I feel a lot more comfortable with offline purchases. When I buy I have to touch and inspect the product first. This is what I usually do. But since I live in an island with limited choices I order online even if I am not that comfortable.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

luv2xacosta
Both are comfortable with me. When buying offline, you can have all the time to inspect the product you would want to buy. You can ask those who are in charge of the store regarding with longevity and aside from that yo would the kind of quality. In online product, yes it's a lot more convenient but the problem is how honest could the seller about their product.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think I would enjoy to some offline purchases as I see personally the products or items that I want to buy and I can attest its quality and reliability. I can have the item that I want anytime when purchasing offline, unlike in online that it takes time for us to receive our products that we bought online and sometimes the one that is being delivered is not similar to what we are purchasing for.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Online purchases offers cheaper prices, delivery fees aren't even that expensive these days but you're going to have to risk buying a fake product. So you'll need to choose wisely and do a bit of research on the store. Offline shopping like going to the malls and checking all the stores is time consuming. It also means you'll have to travel and probably sit through traffic. You don't have the option of comparing prices as easily as it is on an online shop. Personally I prefer online shopping for it's convenience, but offline I prefer for the safety.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

To be completely honest, I was more of an offline purchase person, because I used to feel a lot more safe than buying something online. I kept having the fear that I won't receive my purchase, or that it might be broken. But with times I've learned that buying online is a lot more comfortable, as long as it's an honest company.

I am comfortable with buying goods offline. I like to hold the things that I want. I want to make sure the I purchase the right product. I don't want any hassle especially when it comes to clothes. I make sure It fits me and I wear it comfortably. Besides, I don't have any assurance whether I choose the right seller. We all know that scammers are rampant and they're becoming brilliant in their ways to fool people. I want to avoid it for safety reason.

What gives you comfort, online or offline purchases: For me both because those to are helpful in different ways, it depends on what is your going to buy. For me I do really prefer offline purchases if it was in terms of food and beverages it is the most important thing that we need and we intake it so it needs a thoroughly check it in person to be sure on the quality. And in terms of things your searching for or needed to have and you can't find it or you don't have enough time to do shooping because of your loaded scheduke then the online purchases is a great help this time.

Before I am not that comfortable when buying online because, of course, we cannot check the actual item before buying it. But for the past few days, a lot of sale happened in most of the online stores so I tried to order from it. Truly, it is much convenient and hassle free as you will just have to place order and wait it to come to your house and pay it as it came. The excitemenr in buying online is uncomparable. It is like receiving a gift for you from yourself. That's why I'll go with online shopping.

Another smart thing would be is to buy something online from a company that you already bought from in offline. That way you'll know you can pretty much trust the company (although there's still a risk). We've bought all the necessary equipment for our new kitchen from an online shop.

I have made a number of purchases online and I'm not always satisfied with them especially clothing items. They are either too big, too small or they are totally different from the picture shown by the seller. The advantage is that you can find almost anything online.

i have never really left unsatisfied with something I bought offline and I get to go home with it as soon as I have paid. I find more comfort with my offline purchases

This is the challenge that we are having with doing business on e-commerce sites. I mean that you may not get it right especially when you are paying for clothes unless the seller is someone closer that can send some multiple sizes for you to check out.

Sometimes online purchases do help us to save time in buying a particular items since we don't need anymore to travel to the nearest store just to buy some things we like. It is a good option for those people who are very busy and doesn't have much time in shopping offline.

Actually for me i still feel a better comfort in buying offline than online. Because buying in the supermarkets in your own can make a lot of advantages that buying online. Why? Because in online you need to be very precise before you buy item's for you to not have any regrets but if you buy online you can see the item with your own eyes before you buy it so you can think whether it's good for you or not. But of course if you are a kind of person who always busy and doesn't have time to go to supermarket's it's better to buy item's online but as long as your not busy it is still better to go by yourself to buy items.

Actually, both, as long as I've taken my time in reviewing a specific item like for example in online purchasing, I would really look at the reviews of the specific product and take a look at the ratings of the seller if it gets around 80% - 100% then that's something I would consider buying and so far the things that I bought online are good, on the other hand in offline purchases like buying things in physical stores I would really take a look at the item wear it or test it and that's it if it passes my standards then I will buy it.

I am comfortable making purchase offline. Scammers in online shopping sites are the reason why many online shoppers stop making purchase online. The sad thing about this is that the online shopping sites and the authority can't eliminate these scammers. So, I will keep making offline purchases until they solved the issue.

It really depends on the product I'm buying. Most products that are bought online have low quality and there are some sellers who purposely send the wrong orders. So I guess one has to be careful and selective in trusting stores and buying online. There are just some things better bought offline in a physical store and some things which are convenient to purchase online.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Offline, definitely! As a meticulous buyer, I really take time checking every nook and cranny of whatever I'm buying for any flaws or defects. I triple check if it works well or if it really is worth its price. Online purchases come with a heavy risk since I won't be able to see and check the product before it arrives in my doorstep - where it's too late to turn back, and returning it would be too much of a hassle.

online purchases always are much more comfortable and convenient than offline purchases. Buying products online is getting more and more popular these days. you don't have to waste your time to physically go to the shops and do your shopping. There are more offers and discounts available to you when you do online shopping. However in case of some specific products like Furniture, perishable items, medicines etc. I still prefer to purchase them offline.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Well, offline purchases would always give us assurance because we can see the product at hand. While with online purchases, there are possibilities that the product isn't the same in color and in size when you receive it. But, when we talk about less hassle, let's also give online shopping the credits. You can avoid traffic and long line of people through shopping online.

I find online comforting because I don't have to travel the harsh way. And things can be a bit easier as the delivery happens on your door. Which shows the change that have bring the online ordering system. And the another thing that I have worked up with the online purchase is ease of use and the cashback features.

In online purchases, I think that the courier service should really be strict with their employees. In my area, some employees of a courier service are found opening packages. We are having problems receiving the things we order online. So, this should also be considered when buying online.

I used to purchase online and offline. Purchasing online is convenient because I don't have to leave the house to make a purchase. But online purchasing doesn't always give the best customer satisfaction. I have bad experiences buying online especially for electronic items. There are products that I received that is not properly functioning so I have to return it back to the supplier. It's is really disappointing when you received a defective item because shipping takes too long when the supplier is coming for overseas and it will take so many days again to return it and get the replacement. However, I still purchase online for the product that I need when it is not available in our local store. Just hoping that the supplier will be honest in be concerned with their customers to not deliver a defective item.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

davedaot04
Yes, I've also experience that, I receive a defective item, it's really hassle, I went to LBC and returned it and wait for how many weeks for the replacement, that's what's bad about purchasing online because you won't get to have what you ordered in an instant, well there are other seller who have fast delivery but mostly it just takes weeks, especially if the seller is from the overseas, so that's just the cons of online purchasing, but as expected though, there's pros and cons to things in life.

Online shopping has a faster transfer of information too when it comes to availability. When you shop offline, you go to the store, and you ask. If it's not available you jump to another store. In online, all you have to do is jump from listing to listing which takes about 10 seconds or so.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That's right. I have experienced transferring from one store to another just to see if the product that I'm looking for is available. Online shopping gives us the convenience.

Same here. Sometimes I look for a specific color of the item, and I get disappointed when it becomes out of stock at the time that I'm buying it. Purchasing online alleviates those small issues.

I prefer going to the store for clothes because clothing sizes are different from online sellers and I hate returning clothes that I purchased online. However, I do online shopping quite a lot because there are a lot of discounts/sale! Sometimes, it gets crowded in stores and I don't like crowded places it stresses me out because people can be very annoying and I don't want to deal with them so I think shopping online gives me comfort.

Online purchases give me more comfort because I feel more comfortable sitting at home, surfing the internet for the things I want to buy, Also, buying something online nowadays is more easy than it was before, because we live in a modern, "fast and rapid" age of technology. I mean, you can order your stuff in like 2 to 3 minutes, even less than that amount of time by just clicking on a few things. People can feel anxious while shopping "offline" because some of us, people, do not like to communicate with others so much. That is exactly the case why I do like to shop online instead of offline. It is easier and it makes me more comfortable.

It depends on the kind of product that I am buying. Just recently I have ordered a garden hose and it was delivered after 3 days on a COD payment which assures me of the delivery before I spend. That is very convenient and reassuring for a buyer. In offline stores it is comfortable for me to buy clothes because I can check if there is a damage and also the fitting is paramount. I couldn’t trust online stores with clothing items.

I have no preference, except that in these days of email, it is lovely to get a bit of post so sometimes my choice is online just so a parcel arrives. It really depends however, on what the item is. Hard goods are fine, or music or books, but my preference is to try clothing on in a real time shop as otherwise it is a drag sending the item back.

The current consumer is multichannel and is willing to buy through all kinds of ways: from the traditional store to the online world, from the mobile app to social networks. What the consumer wants is to be able to decide at any time and place what channel he wants to use to get the desired product. Personally, I prefer to shop at offline stores because of the possibility of seeing, touching and testing the articles before buying them, something that the online universe cannot compete with.

I prefer to purchase from offline stores where I can see, touch or smell the items I wish to buy. I feel more secure having the item on hand after payment is done. I also feel that I got my money's worth as soon as I have the item with me. More so, when I buy from offline stores, there is a big possibility of having discounts especially when I buy from small stores where the owners are present. I may also have the item replaced or changed immediately if it has some defects.

And also for shoes i would prefer buying it in a physical store and avoid the hassles or returns and refunds. But for clothes and small products i usially buy it online from a trusted sites vecause it saves me time and money. Offline purchases. I always like to see in live what I'm buying, especially if I'm buying clothes. Because I need to try clothes, does it suit me, regardless the size of the clothes. There are standards, but size of the clothes still varies. Size of the clothes is very important, I don't want to end paying something that doesn't suit me because of buying it online.

I prefer both offline and online in different terms. I do purchase offline some of may clothes or groceries where I could choose widely and I could easily change when my taste changed. I could also fit my clothes because I got different sizes in different brands. I only use online purchasing when the one thing that I like was so hard to find. I also use online on purchasing some food when I am tired at work and couldn't cook for myself. Both are very useful to me and it makes my life easier depends on how I use both of it.
