Onpage SEO Query regarding SERP description

Hi All SEO Experts,

Answer only experts please NO NOOBS.........

My one friend asked me for help regarding SERP description of domain name.

When we search domainname.com in google then result come up with domainname.com related pages with title and description as usual like others.

Other listings seems normal but the main result for domainname.com shows this kind of description

"A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt learn more"

When i checked robots.txt then all are fine.

User-agent: *
Disallow:
Crawl-delay: 2
Sitemap: http://DOMAINNAME.com/sitemap.xml

but i have never seen "Crawl-delay" attribute so i suggested him to remove it from robots.txt but still the problem persist.

Here are meta tags of that website
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
<meta name="revisit-After" content="3 Days" />
<meta name="copyright" content="Copyright 2012, tenderdetail.com" />
<meta name="identifier" content="http://DOMAINNAME.com/" />
<meta name="language" content="English" />
<meta name="googlebot" content="index, follow" />
<meta name="msnbot" content="index, follow" />
<meta name="slurp" content="index, follow" />
<meta name="robots" content="index, follow" />
<meta name="rating" content="General" />
<meta name="distribution" content="global" />
<meta name="author" content="http://DOMAINNAME.com/" />

Do anyone knows the answer?

Thanks,
Jaymin

Hy.

I thing we may need a little more details on this.

If you go to a page where your website appear with the domain the error persist?
What kind of website we are talking about? Simple php/html/css websites or is a wordpress.. etc?

Also try the above suggestion to test your robot.txt in webmaster tools or any other tool but from your code all looks ok.

There may be a possibility that a certain moment when the boots crawl your webpage that you got a overload on the server, or a down time and since it couldn't access the website the description was let behind.

Look over the log and see if you spot any down time... if this is the reason then it will resolve by it's self next time when the boot will pass... Make another sitemap with only that url and a few more and resubmit again in webmaster tools.

I am trying to learn whatever lesson I can get from this forum about SEO and this topic about the SERP description is interesting to me because it can happen to my site. I hope there will be a closure to this discussion so we will know the reason and the resolution.
