    Will you start your forum or blog first?

    I started my blog first to provide information to my readers. And, then later I added a forum where I could talk to the people who visit my blog. The forum gives me greater connectivity to my readers and lets me have insight into what they really want to read about.

    Starting a blog first is smart as it lets you build readership first and then later expand with the forum. If you try to start the forum first you are likely to run into issues trying to get members/readers as this base of fans for your content won't already exist.

    I have a forum and not really interested in being a full time blogger. Though I have several blogs, for me it's more about the forum. My forum is the center of my business world and any blog is only a supplement, such as to advertise posts made on the forum or give details about updates to the forum. I'm enjoying the forum life for now.

    If I can have a blogsite and a forum at the same time, I would probably start the forum first. And when it us doing well with a good number of active members then that's a good time to launch the blog. For sure, your blog will have readers no matter how few especially if you will promote your blog in your forum. When you do it the opposite way, how do you promote your new forum in your blog?
