    Why would someone blog if they can't earn money?

    Is it ever a good idea to blog if you can't really earn money? Should you just blog because you really love a subject?

    Yes! You should blog even if you can't earn money from it. The sheer practice of writing is always a good thing. You will never waste any effort if you are writing constantly. One day, all that practice will pay off and you will strike gold when you find a niche that you are passionate and can blog about and it will be so good because you will earn money at it too.

    here's no reason to think that money is the only reason to blog. If you really love what you are blogging about, it won't matter if it earns money or not.

    You cannot earn over night with blogging. You many have to continue blogging for 6 months until you see a penny accumulated on your account. However, once you master blogging, you can earn good money. Your article published 5 years ago will still earn money today. Furthermore, you will also earn reputation through blogging. You can be an established writer through blogging.

    People blog for different reasons so it's not surprising if it doesn't involve money at all. If you're on a gap year, you can use a blog to showcase your portfolio and allow potential employers to have a preview of your skills. It can also be a good venue to publish technical articles or software/product reviews that can help others in your profession and may probably help set you up for a consulting position.

    It may not be a good idea to start blogging with money as your initial goal because viewers can read through you and your intentions and be turned off.

    I had been invited to submit guest posts in a blog. With my passion as the niche of the blog, I hastily agreed even if I was not really good in writing. Fortunately, I had a tutor who taught me the rudiments of blogging. And after sometime when I had submitted so many blogs, I was surprised to receive some earnings. With that passion in mind, I guess some bloggers can go on blogging with no earnings in mind.
