Mixing work and play time while freelancing

Work and play do not mix and are not compatible. If you are distracted by Facebook or Youtube while working then shut them off. Cut out the distractions as they have no place in the work day. If it's time for play then you should play as hard as possible, but if it's work time, then you should work equally hard.

A regular employer would not tolerate your having Facebook open during the workday. And, since you are the boss as a freelancer, you should not put up with it either. Control yourself on the job so you can earn more money.

Why freelancers fail is because we mixed play and job together sometimes even playing more than working such that we don't achieve much at the end of the day.I have come to realize this and I schedule my time now and follow it strictly.I work when I should and only play when it is time for it.

Save your play time for off hours when you are not required to be working and give your full attention to the client who has paid you to do the work. This is most fair since they have made an investment into you and have priority over your time.

I do not work when it is time to play and vice versa. One needs to split the two!

Facebook can eat up many valuable work hours if you don't watch out. You need to shut out these distractions so you have plenty of time for work and taking care of the important people in your life and let the online social scene take care of itself.

I get distracted easily and I have to close my Facebook and turn off notifications whenever I am working. This allows for better concentration especially when I am writing. I try my best not to spend too much time on Facebook and YouTube else my work will suffer. I am addicted to YouTube especially. I can't stop watching documentaries.

I don't spend much time in other sites and I'm glad that I'm not like the others who are continually tuned in to Facebook. When it is time to work, I don't want any interruption. Disturbing me when I am working is a mortal sin, everybody in our home knows that. And when it's time to relax, the work takes a backseat.

It is true that you cannot mix work and play.
I always prefer to finish writing articles first so I can use the remaining time for leisure activities and relaxing.
